Teaching English in India

As the third largest English speaking country in the world, the demand for TEFL teachers is ever growing. However, the TEFL market in India is quite competitive, and securing a guaranteed placement can be difficult.

When you book our 100-Hour Combined TEFL Course, we’ll arrange your FREE teaching job placement in a reputable school or language institute. By availing of our job placement service, you won't need to worry about any job-hunting, researching, CV-sending and making sure the job is reliable—you can leave that to us!

Requirements:

  • Native English Speaker
  • Completed University Degree
  • 100-Hour Online TEFL Course
Employment Package:
  • Salary: Approximately 10–13,000 rupees / €175-230 per month based on 6 days per week including 20 - 24 hours per week of teaching time. Teachers are required to stay at the school throughout the school day and may also be involved in extra-curricular activities.
  • Locations: At present the schools are mainly located in and around the city of Ahmedabad, although some positions may be available in Bangalore and Hyderabad. Most schools are suburban though there is a tendency for schools to be built on the edges of the cities which gives them a rural feel without actually being 'remote'.
  • Placement lengths: 3, 6, or 9 months
  • Departure Dates: Departures are available every month.
  • Accommodation: Accommodation will be provided free of charge (except for phone bills), in an apartment near to the school or within the school premises.
  • Student age range: You will be teaching a mix of children and teenagers, from primary school level to 17 and 18 year olds.
  • Arrival: You will be met at the Airport (the airport will vary depending on the placement) and taken to your accommodation. There will be a period of acclimatisation, which is usually 2 days (although this varies greatly from school to school) during which time you will have an orientation to the culture and teaching. After this you will be advised of your duties and given a tour of the school. This is followed by an introduction to the students, normally undertaken during the regular morning assembly.
