Before finally settling down in her career as a solicitor, Aisling decided she wanted to travel and set sail from Sligo temporarily, she said.
“(Teaching English as a Foreign Language) was the most suitable choice for me as I was desperate to travel but had no means of financing travel or securing a job before I left,” she said.
Without prior teaching experience, Aisling took the full 120-hour course and used i-to-i’s free job placement service for her upcoming, soon-to-be finalized contract in South Korea, she said.
“I do not have to job hunt as it’s sorted out for us,” Aisling said. “This is a huge benefit and I would highly recommend it.”
While she had never thought about TEFL or teaching before, Aisling felt fully prepared after her course and now more confident on how to undertake teaching a class, she said
Aisling highly recommends the TEFL course to anyone thinking about teaching abroad as “TEFL allows you to have job and accommodation security as you see the World,” she said.
Now in the final stages, Aisling is excited about seeing South Korea and dealing with the locals on a daily basis and immersing herself into the culture, she said.
“With TEFL it means that I can travel and save at the same time,” she said. “It means instead of going into debt I can travel all over the World and really enjoy myself.”
After TEFL in South Korea, Aisling is already looking forward to hopefully travelling throughout New Zealand, she said.
“If you’re really committed to getting away asap, TEFL is definitely the way and the tutors are really nice and friendly,” she said. “Do it, it’s worth every penny!”
