TEFL Traveller - Siobhan Leahy
Siobhan recently decided to enrol in a TEFL course and become qualified to teach English abroad in hopes of finding a year contract in Belgium, she said.
“I want to join my boyfriend in Belgium and have better chance of getting employment (with a TEFL qualification),” she said.
Siobhan was working in administration and accounts before turning toward TEFL, and even though she doesn’t have any past teaching experience the TEFL course gives her the training and preparation for moving and teaching in Belgium.
She found the i-to-i courses after doing an Internet search and is in the process of completing her training, she said.
“It’s very informative,” Siobhan said. “I 'm really enjoying it.”
With the TEFL qualification under her belt, she looks forward to having a better opportunity at finding work overseas- allowing her to move closer to her boyfriend, she said.
“I’m looking forward to the new experiences and being back with my boyfriend!” Siobhan said.
