Straight out of college, Liam was looking for work when a friend told him about Teaching English as A Foreign Language abroad, he said.
“I wanted to travel and TEFL was best option, as a job is sorted before entering a country,” Liam said.
Without any prior teaching experience, Liam used the Internet to find contacts abroad and had secured his teaching contract in Costa Rica before taking the course, he said.
Liam will spend roughly six to eight months working in South America, while getting a chance to travel and explore a new part of the world, he said.
Having taken the TEFL course, Liam is more prepared for the classroom and teaching environment then he had been before, he said.
“If you want to travel do it!” Liam said.
